Samantha Gascon (Alberta)
Samantha Gascon is a Registered Canadian Certified Counsellor who completed her Master of Science in Psychology degree through Grand Canyon University and is currently completing a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Samantha works from a strengths-based approach and seeks to assist clients in empowering themselves. She honours the self-determination of the client and is invested in working with clients to learn new skills to improve their quality of life. She is flexible and collaborative in therapeutic approach, and provides an open environment for clients to express themselves freely without judgment. Samantha understands that treatment requires to be individualized to the needs of the client. She has worked with adults on various issues including: depression, anxiety, stress, domestic abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, suicidality, and trauma. She has utilized Cognitive Behavioural and Problem-Solving Therapies, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing in order to facilitate an environment that promotes change. Samantha's greatest joys are her family, friends and pets. Her favorite hobbies include watching Los Angeles Kings hockey and Red Sox baseball, and gaming on PlayStation.
Lana Bryanton (Alberta)
Lana Bryanton is an experienced clinician who has completed her Master of Counselling degree with Honours with Distinction. She has supported clients for over a decade and is currently a Registered Psychologist, a Canadian Certified Counsellor, a Grief Recovery Specialist, and a Certified Crisis Worker. Lana is also a member of the following associations: - College of Alberta Psychologists - Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association - Psychologists’ Association of Alberta - Alberta Psychologists Competence Co-operative - International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Canada - Grief Recovery Institute - American Association of Suicidology Lana’s experience includes working collaboratively with adults, adolescents, and children (7+). Her approach to counselling includes using Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioural, Mindfulness, and Emotionally-Focused Therapies. In addition, Lana has completed Level 1 training in Gottman Couples therapy. She is also trained in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma-based memories and events (ranging from mildly disturbing to extremely disturbing events). Lana uses EMDR to help children, adolescents, adults, and couples, with many types of issues. Lana will help you develop personalized therapeutic goals and uses research-based techniques when working with her clients. Lana provides counselling in English, Serbian, and Croatian, in several formats: on-line counselling, phone counselling, and in-person counselling. Lana continually add to her knowledge by attending various workshops and training on many topics, such as attachment, separation/divorce, mental health, couples therapy, child management techniques, and e-counselling. When she is not counselling, Lana likes to spend time outdoors, especially in the summer-time. She enjoys travelling, swimming, and having get-togethers with family and friends.
Cindy Mason (Alberta)
Cindy Mason is a Registered Psychologist who completed her Master of Counselling Psychology degree through Athabasca University. She works from a person-centered approach, primarily using EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution-Focused, and Emotional-Focused therapies, as well as Hypnosis. Through her years of training, experience, and volunteering, she has extensive knowledge dealing with issues of trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, phobias, stress management, suicide, grief, boundaries, assertiveness, and self esteem. She is constantly updating her knowledge and skills. Cindy believes in creating a caring, safe, collaborative, and non-judgemental environment for clients to explore growth and change. She believes that clients have strength, resiliency, and resources to work through life’s challenges, as well as the ability to learn new perspectives, skills, and resources when necessary. Cindy will help guide clients to enhance personal growth, healthy habits, and meet identified goals.
