Beverly Harshenin (F)
Bev Harshenin RMT I have been an RMT for several years. Have over 18 years experience as an RMT. I have worked in Multidisciplinary clinics here, as well as in US. Chiro, Acupuncture, Physio, Naturopathic MD, etc. I had a practice for a few years with Dr.Z Strauts MD. He was an MD who believed in alternative medicine. Have worked in various settings in my massage therapy career which include medical clinics, multi disciplinary clinics, spas etc. I have worked several events as a therapist- Sports events( Olympics, etc.) Musical festivals, re working on orchestras of musicians, etc. Corporate events- massage for stressed out ceo, executives etc. Treatment style •Deep tissue work. Fascial release, Trigger point, etc. •Have seen patients extensively re: post trauma Re: MVA, work in juries, sports injuries etc. •I am interested in working more with head injured and post concussion patients, as I have an appreciation and experience in this area. Having recovered from concussions and head trauma and can appreciate what a patient has to go through in the recovery process. •Have worked extensively on athletes in various settings and at the Olympics. •Volunteered in GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre in Vancouver. •Rehabilitation work. Like to work on Whiplash patients, etc. Love to do neck and head treatments, shoulders, etc n my leisure time I am involved with various sports, therefore I have an appreciation for athletes and injuries. My leisure time in includes all my sports such as skiing, running, hiking, golfing, tennis, kayaking and dancing.
Lindsay has always has a passion for the health industry with a history in Life Science, personal training, varsity athletics, ultra marathon running, and a current successful career in Massage Therapy. She enthusiastically uses her knowledge and excellent care to enable clients to be more successful in all aspects of their professional, personal, and recreational lives. She believes that assessment, evidence-based manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise will allow each patient to reach their full potential and maintain healthy and active lifestyles. She has a wide range of experience working with clients who suffer from various conditions such as overuse injuries, low back pain, postural dysfunctions, and headaches. She enjoys the unique challenges each client presents with. She has a particular interest in working with athletes and enjoys learning about the biomechanics and mechanism of injury in all different sports. Her goal to is to return the athlete to full function, with minimal interruption to training. As an athlete she has personally experienced and witnessed the benefits of massage therapy in injury treatment and prevention, and maintaining general health and wellbeing. She uses active and passive forms of treatment such as trigger point release, passive and contractile myofascial release techniques, Ligamentous Articular Strain Techniques, Deep Systemic Treatments, instrument assisted techniques, and Kinesio taping to help each patient reach their goals.
Chloe Burlo is a graduate of Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) and has her registration through the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. Prior to attending VCMT she earned her Diploma in Human Kinetics from Capilano University. Chloe has had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients during her practicum including sports injuries, high-risk pregnancy, post-natal care, postural dysfunction, neurological conditions, geriatrics and a variety of other conditions. During her treatments, Chloe employs a variety of techniques including myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, stretches and Swedish massage. She believes in working with her patients to develop both short-term and long-term treatment goals and finding the best treatment plan for individuals. Chloe is currently accepting new patients, and looks forward to working with you.

Kaitlyn Lutsenko (F)
Kaitlyn Lutsenko RMT is a 2014 graduate of the 3000 hour program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy and has a comprehensive understanding of the application of massage. Kaitlyn uses a variety of therapeutic techniques, which include: Deep tissue, Swedish, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy. She is passionate about working with maternity and post-partum clients. In 2015, Kaitlyn attended an Iyengar yoga and Anatomy course where she learnt how yoga can be used to assess and treat musculoskeletal dysfunction. Kaitlyn is interested in pursuing further study in cranioscaral and osteopathic techniques. She is excited to be taking further training in women's health this coming year.
Kristel Pearce is a graduate from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT). Kristel's background includes working in the high-tech field in human resources and a BA in Psychology. She discovered her interest in health care and massage therapy after realizing how much massage had helped her with a repetitive strain injury. Kristel enjoys treating a wide variety of people and conditions and has experience with pregnancy massage, geriatrics, neurological conditions, postural dysfunction, repetitive strain injuries and other Orthopedic conditions. She employs a variety of techniques in her treatment plan based on individual needs which includes Swedish, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques and lymphatic drainage. In her spare time Kristel enjoys reading, cooking, climbing, snowboarding, swimming and scuba diving.
Pursuing a long interest in health and wellness, Richard studied for his RMT accreditation at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. Following graduation he has also studied Craniosacral Therapy, Management of TMJ (Jaw) Dysfunction, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Soft Tissue Release Technique. All of these have lead to a new curiosity around the underlying anatomy and physiology of the human body, that he has recently explored in cadaver lab courses. Richard has a passion for helping his clients get back to a healthy and full life.
Derek Sherk RMT has experience treating several sport and lifestyle related injuries. He uses a variety of techniques including trigger point therapy, myofascial release and deep tissue massage therapy. Derek puts a strong emphasis on teaching his patients exercises and self care to improve their overall health. If patients are being treated by a physio or chiro at avita, Derek will work with these health care professionals to develop a treatment plan best suited to the patients' needs.
Kyla is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT). Her past work as a caregiver for a quadriplegic individual and her passion for health and exercise inspired her to become an RMT. In her treatments she focuses on compassionate and patient centered care, creating individually tailored sessions that are in line with her patients goals. She strives to educate her patients and to deliver helpful and relevant home care. She utilizes a variety of techniques including Swedish massage, sustained and neuromuscular stretching, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, joint mobilizations, and myofascial release. yla has six months of experience in Swedish relaxation massage from working at a Spa as a masseuse prior to registration giving her a solid foundation in techniques to encourage relaxation and a state of well being. She also gained experienced during her educational practicums with sports injuries, high risk pregnancy, multiple sclerosis, geriatrics, Spinal cord injuries, chronic illnesses and postural conditions. Kyla grew up on the gulf islands and enjoys hiking, swimming, biking, dancing, camping, running and yoga.

Thomas is a personable, positive, caring and genuine massage therapist, who is passionate about what he does. Thomas graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, achieving the Dean's List status every semester (achieving a 90% average or above) and receiving a scholarship for winning first place in a BC wide case study contest, post-graduation, for his case study paper on eye strain related headaches and Massage Therapy. He is a well-rounded RMT who knows how to accommodate the pressure and intensity of his massage to best suit an individual's needs. Working with patients who are in need of relaxation, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release alike and having great success treating for and reducing: muscle pain, limited range of motion, headaches, stress, strains and sprains, Thomas is a great choice to help you on your way to recovery.
Annie Ospina graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) and is registered through the College of Massage Therapists of BC. Before deciding to become an RMT, Annie graduated with a diploma in Motion Picture production from Capilano University. During her practical experience at WCCMT, Annie worked on sports injuries, postural dysfunctions, pre-and post-natal care, neurological and geriatric conditions. Annie incorporates many techniques into her treatments such as myofascial release, trigger point release, stretching, deep tissue, and joint mobilizations, as well as Swedish massage to encourage the healing process. On her free time Annie enjoys playing board games, knitting, doing yoga, watching movies, and travelling the world.
Connor (F) Son
Connor graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, located in Toronto, Ontario. Prior to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, he was a personal trainer who was devoted to helping his clients achieve their fitness goals and improve their lifestyle. Connor's strong interest in health and wellness catalyzed him to further pursue his career in healthcare. As someone who lives and breathes personal fitness, Connor brings his knowledge of body mechanics, strength training and a motivational outlook to his registered massage therapy practice. He uses a variety of techniques to formulate the most effective treatment, specializing in deep tissue, sports massage, myo-fascial release and joint play. Connor also puts a tremendous emphasis on utilizing hydrotherapy and self care, along with remedial exercises to promote clients' wellness as it applies to their current physical condition. Connor brings a unique intuitive perspective which enables him to provide clients with the best treatment approach to reach their personal health and fitness goals. Alexandra (Ali) Dasler
Ali is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT). After a year studying Health Sciences in New Zealand, she came back to Vancouver and decided that- while she was fascinated by anatomy and physiology- she wanted to pursue a more hands on career path (pun very much intended). Ali loves working with people and believes in a holistic approach to health and wellness. It can be expected that Ali will review your health history, assess your current condition, and build a treatment plan with you to work towards a shared goal; Ali will also be happy to provide you with exercises to do at home in order to further facilitate your health. Ali's schooling has equipped her with the skills and knowledge to assess and treat many different conditions, including sports related injuries, overuse syndromes, pregnancy, and postural dysfunctions. She has been trained in techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, passive and dynamic tissue release, and joint mobilizations. When Ali isn't at work, she is often found in the mountains- hiking, climbing, or snowshoeing. She also loves to read, cook/bake, and explore the local coffee shops and craft breweries.
Marly has been working as an RMT since 2008 where she began her practice in Calgary, AB. Since graduation, she has been continuously expanding her knowledge by taking various related courses including Reflexology, CranioSacral therapy, and other alternative healthcare modalities. Over the years, Marly has been incorporating her skills through working with many clients with diverse complaints- ranging from acute injuries to chronic pain conditions. She is now a registered therapist in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario and hopes to continue building her skills to successfully provide individualized treatments for each unique client that comes her way.
Patrick is a graduate of the 3000 hour program at the highly regarded Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He was awarded the prestigious Heart Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence. Patrick has a keen interest in uncovering the root cause of problems and addressing them at their source. He then empowers his patients with useful information on how to better manage their condition on their own, through effective homecare strategies.
: Marlo was inspired to become a Registered Massage Therapist through her own healing experiences with sport related injuries, and graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy's 20 month program. Looking at health and wellbeing through a holistic lense, she provides tailored treatments for each individual to help them achieve their goals. Employing techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, joint mobilizations and Swedish massage, Marlo believes in providing immediate relief, and also finding the root of the problem to provide a long-term solution from pain and dysfunction. Outside of work Marlo enjoys watching horse racing, being in nature with her dog Billie, playing board games, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Andrea is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT). Andrea’s background includes working on the other side of the clinic as a Health Care Coordinator which has given her an established background on what makes a clinic work. It was in her studying at BCIT that she was introduced to the basics of Anatomy and Physiology and had decided that she wanted to know more and have a more hands on approach to healing. Growing up on the North Shore, Andrea competed in Figure skating for over 10 years and was always training off-ice in dance. She discovered her interest in health care and massage therapy after realising how much massage therapy helped her with the many injuries she succumbed to. Along with her own experience and managing injuries, Andrea’s schooling has equipped her with the skills and knowledge to assess and treat many different conditions. She has been trained in techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, active and passive release and joint mobilizations. Many of these techniques can be applied to varying sports related injuries, overuse syndromes and postural dysfunctions.
